Webinar and Funding Opportunity: Investing in an Elder-Competent Workforce

We invite you to join us for a Webinar and Funding Opportunity release:

Investing in an
Elder-
Competent Workforce

April 18, 2012
3 to 4 p.m
.

Since 2006, the nursing program at Genesee Community College and the Genesee County Office for the Aging in western New York have worked together to improve the elder competence of GCC’s nursing students in two important ways:

  • By including certification in the Respecting Choices® advance care planning program and;
  • Developing a geriatric care rotation for students to gain firsthand experience with community-based aging services and learn about the issues affecting older adults.

Join us at our April 18 webinar to learn about this program and its successes and learn more about an opportunity to replicate this relationship with other nursing and social work schools in the regions the Foundation funds.

Eligible applicants for this funding opportunity include two and four-year colleges and universities in western and central New York that currently offer nursing and social work associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
